On Monday, 28th September 2026, IGRAO was deeply honoured to host representatives from Think Humanity at our offices and community center in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Western Uganda. The high level working visit provided a meaningful platform to discuss joint humanitarian impact, grassroots education, and community resilience.
Think Humanity has been an invaluable, long standing humanitarian partner to the refugee and host communities across Kyangwali for many years. Their dedication to dignity and life saving interventions has touched thousands of vulnerable lives through multi sectoral programs, including widespread malaria prevention via long lasting insecticidal mosquito net distributions, primary healthcare access, community clean water infrastructure, and extensive educational support for underprivileged children and girls.
Sharing Vision, Grassroots Action, and Strategic Priorities
During the visit, the IGRAO leadership and field coordination team had the opportunity to present our comprehensive community initiatives, operational milestones, and ongoing mission to uplift vulnerable displaced families. The discussions centered on how refugee led solutions create sustainable pathways out of poverty and trauma through:
- Early Childhood Development & Nursery Education: Progress on the newly constructed Kyebitaka Nursery Block and child safe classrooms.
- Adult Literacy & Lifelong Learning: Uplifting mothers, caregivers, and community members with foundational English and numeracy skills.
- Sustainable Livelihoods & Food Security: Agri farming cooperatives, permaculture, and vocational skills for youth self reliance.
- Economic & Youth Uplifting: Mentorship, civic engagement, and leadership pipelines for displaced youth.
The Power of Meaningful Humanitarian Partnerships
We sincerely thank Think Humanity for taking the time to visit our offices, meet with our team on the ground, and learn firsthand about our community driven approaches. Their longstanding contribution to the Kyangwali community stands as an inspiring model of dedicated humanitarian stewardship.
At IGRAO, we firmly believe that transformative, generational change is built through genuine collaboration, shared values, and mutual trust between international partners and refugee led grassroots organizations. When global solidarity joins hands with community rooted leadership, every displaced child gains access to quality education, and every vulnerable family is afforded the opportunity to rebuild with dignity and hope.
“Meaningful partnerships, shared experiences, and collaboration are essential to building resilient, self reliant communities where every child has access to quality education and every family has an opportunity to thrive.”
