Founded by Refugees, Focused on Grassroots Solutions

IROD GLOBAL REFUGEES ACTIONS ORGANIZATION (IGRAO) was established in 2018 in Kyebitaka Block 04, Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Kikuube District, Western Uganda.

As a registered Refugee-Led Organization (RLO), IGRAO was founded by community members who experienced the daily hardships of displacement firsthand, including out-of-school children, chronic household nutrition deficits, and severe land constraints.

Rather than relying solely on temporary relief hand-outs, IGRAO designs community-managed initiatives in basic education, community aquaculture, Matooke banana agronomy, and agroforestry that foster practical, long-term self-determination.
